What We customized women’s NFL jersey  Learned from Andy Reid Following Friday’s Game

Andy Reid spoke to the media Friday night

OPENING STATEMENT: “As far as the injuries go not really a lot to mention. [Chris] Conley has a knee contusion, we’ll just see how he does and [Phillip] Gaines dislocated a finger. Other than that everybody made it through fairly healthy. Really the game came down to two turnovers and then all of the penalties. So two turnovers, 10 points we have to do better. In those areas I was disappointed in that part of it, the discipline part. However the ones had a positive showing. I thought they came out with some good work and were able to move the ball pretty good. With that time’s yours.”

Talk about Sam [Ficken] being able to come in basically at the last minute and fill in for Cairo [Santos]?  “I thought he did a nice job. That was a positive. He has a very strong leg. We’ve had him before in camp and we liked him, we liked what we saw there. I think it’s just a matter of him having an opportunity like he had today.”

What did you see from the first-team offense and Alex Smith on that first drive?  “I thought the ones were on top of their game.  Custom Womens Patriots Jersey I was very happy with them and we kept them in there just for a bit and then got  custom vikings jersey them out. Actually Alex only played the one series and then he was out. We got the young quarterbacks a  custom womens vikings jersey lot of throws. We didn’t run the ball much and when we did we didn’t run it very well. But we came in where we wanted to throw the ball and give those kids an opportunity. We had all four of them play, all four quarterbacks play, and I thought that was an important thing that we got in today.”

What did you think about [Tyler] Bray and [Patrick] Mahomes and how the two of them faired in their series?  “It was almost equal, it was close. I’ll go back and look at the tape on it and see. They had plays called back, in particular the young kids.”

Anything stand out from either of their performances to you?  “I thought they did some good things. A couple of things we have to work on, but I thought for the most part they did some good things. I thought Tyler had a little bit better protection than maybe what Patrick had, but he had to move around a little bit too.”

What did you think the problem was?  “We just didn’t do a very good job. We didn’t get the push we needed to get. There were a couple times where I thought, and again I have to look at the tape on this, but I wasn’t sure we hit the right holes that were available for us. They got us with a couple blitzes too.”

Would you say stopping the run as well?  “Well down the stretch there we weren’t doing a very good job.”

What was the thought process in getting Derrick [Johnson] in the preseason game? Was it just that he hadn’ Custom Womens Steelers Jersey t played in a while?   “He did get a few reps. He needed them, but he probably got a few more than what I really wanted.”

Mahomes obviously made some nice throws but today off this, is there anything to think of improving  Custom Womens Eagles Jersey to?  “I thought he moved around well. I thought he made some nice reads, some nice throws to start his game off but most of them were called back. But I thought he did a nice job, he had a pretty good event.”

All three quarterbacks go deep the first play, was that designed in anyway?  “It was for four, but the fourth one was playing in a little different coverage.”

Obviously DJ [Derrick Johnson] coming back from injury and Allen Bailey coming back, what did you see from Allen?   “I thought the ones did a nice job and for the most part the two’s. But when we started getting the young kids in there, mixing and matching, we probably weren’t as sound as we need. That’s what you remember. Unfortunately you remember the last little out there when those guys are in. But I don’t want to take away from what the ones and the early two’s did.”

Kareem Hunt seemed like he was doing pretty well there on the special teams, what’s it like to have a running back, back there?   “He had a couple nice tackles. I would have liked to have gotten him going on the offensive side. But he did a nice job there and that’s a plus. And you need your backup running backs to be good special teamers. He really did a nice job with it.”

On Mahomes touchdown throw, was it drawn up that way or was it just being creative?  “They showed blitz man, then they peeled the ends against the primary against man on the back. Then he just moved around and made it happen, that was just him. That wasn’t how it was drawn up.”

I know it’s just the preseason but how close are those guys to getting back like Travis [Kelce], Eric [Berry]?  “They are close. Potentially will get some work out of them this next week, we’ll just see how it goes. They’ve got a big rehab session tomorrow so we’ll see.”

CLOSING STATEMENT: “Before we leave here, Officer Gary Michael just our hearts go out to him and his family. He was killed in the line of duty and we’re very fortunate that we have those guys taking care of us and unfortunately he gave his life away. Thank you.”

Five Things We L customized women’s NFL jersey earned From Andy Reid on Sunday

Coach Reid spoke with the media on Sunday afternoon

1. Reid was impressed custom womens vikings jersey  with rookie running back Kareem Hunt on Saturday night. Hunt rushed for 40 yards on eight carries and caught three passes for 23 yards, spending quite a bit of time with the first team offense.

“It was good to get him in – we wanted to do that going in,” Reid said. “He got some work in with the ones, and I thought the best thing was to see him, and to allow him to see, the speed of the game and the endurance that it takes to play at that level. I thought he handled himself really well. He kind of tweaked his ankle right there at the end, and it ended up being where he wanted to go back in, but he had enough reps, so I was good with where he was at. I just think overall, for him to have the confidence – if he’s going to help us this year – to get in there against that group in Cincinnati and for our players to see him work with that first group – I thought it was important.”

 Custom Womens Steelers Jersey

Reid continued to talk about Hunt and his development as a pass protector.

“I would tell you probably the last seven or eight days here it kind of clicked for him in that area,” Reid said. “I really felt like he was getting the hang of it. EB (Running Backs Coach Eric Bieniemy) would probably agree with that, that he felt pretty comfortable with him in that area. That’s always the hardest thing. Carrying the ball – you have a pretty good idea of what he can do for the most part – but that protection when it’s a bang-bang play and you can’t repeat the play and teach him, it’s for real. That was good to see him execute there.

2. Reid provided an update on safety Eric Berry, who has missed both preseason games with a heel injury.

“(Berry) will probably get a little work in this week, at least in practice,” Reid said. “We’ll just have to see how he feels. We’re being a little conservative with him in that area. I think we know what he can do, but at the same time, I want to make sure that he’s comfortable going into our first game against New England. We’ll see how he feels. He’s a determined guy, so I might have to out the clamps on him a little bit because he’s full throttle when he’s out there.”

Reid also provided an update on defensive tackle Chris Jones, who was activated from the Physically Unable to Perform List last week, and linebacker Tamba Hali, who is dealing with a knee injury.

“We’ll see. We were able to work Chris in a little bit last week in practice, and we’ll increase that,” Reid said. “I think he came out of last week feeling pretty good. Sore, but just from playing, not because of the injury. We’ll just see how he does. With Tamba, we’ll just see how things work out this week.”

Custom Womens Eagles Jersey . Reid discussed how rookie quarterback Patrick Mahomes has done in his transition to the NFL so far. Mahomes completed 10 of 14 passes for 88 yards and two touchdowns on Saturday.

“You’re really not sure (how they’ll develop) until they get here,” Reid said. “You hear about the work ethic and all of that, but it’s just different at this level. I keep referring to the (quarterback) room, and it’s important that they’re in a good room to learn. Then it’s a matter of their effort, and that’s kind of the unknown. I’ve been very pleased with that part of it. He’s a relentless worker. He wants to be the best. All of those intangible things that you kind of heard about but you really didn’t know until you have him here, he’s kind of answered that part and done well. It’s custom vikings jersey  important that he stays on top of it – every day is a new experience for him. He hasn’t been through this before. To have an Alex Smith in the room, I just think for a young guy, you can’t ask for more than that. To see how you handle yourself as a professional and how you go about working and not being afraid to ask questions. Overall, I’ve been very pleased with his work ethic and how he’s gone about i Custom Womens Patriots Jersey t professionally.”

Reid went on to discuss how Mahomes did last night in particular.

“He did OK, there were a couple little hiccups in there, but for the most part I thought he did well,” Reid said. “In particular, he did well getting in and out of the huddle and seeing things there. There were a few hiccups, but nothing major. I think that motor was going pretty fast when he first got in the game. He was excited to be in there with that first group and that early in the game. I think he kind of settled down after that and handled himself pretty well.”

4. Reid also discussed the play of his defense as a whole, which held Cincinnati to under 260 yards and just four field goals on the night, and defensive back Phillip Gaines in particular.

“There’s a couple things that we need to work on, but overall, I thought we did a pretty nice job there. It was great to get (Phillip) Gaines back in there and get him a lot of playing time,” Reid said. “He got a lot of work in against good players and I think that will just add to his confidence down the road here. He came out feeling pretty good and he kept on battling which was beautiful to watch. I appreciated that.”

5. Reid talked about tight end Demetrius Harris, who caught two touchdowns on Saturday, and his development now in his fourth year in the NFL.

“He’s had a good camp. He came in and he’s put on a little bit of weight – he’s been kind of our primary run blocker and second tight end. He added just a little bit of weight – some good weight – and he’s worked a ton on catching the football in tight areas,” Reid said. “I’m looking forward to how he plays this season. He’s come a long way, I mean he was a basketball player in college, but he grew up in a football family. His dad was a professional football player, so he knows the game and understands it, but in terms of actually getting out there and doing it, he’s gotten better every year. It’s a tribute to him.”

customized women’s NFL jersey Defense Quietly Has Strong Night in Victory

Kansas City held the Bengals to just four field goals on Saturday night

On a night where the offense racked up over 400 total yards and 30 points, it might be easy to overlook a stout defensive effort in which the Chiefs surrendered only four field goals on the evening.

“I thought our defense, that first group, was outstanding,” Head Coach Andy Reid said. “They challenged, they had a couple break ups and (the Bengals) were going to come in and try to run the ball too and we were able to kind of secure things up there.”

Kansas City held Cincinnati to just 257 total yards after allowing 434 yards to San Francisco in the preseason opener, and allowed just four third down conve Custom Womens Steelers Jersey rsions in 14 tries. Two of those third-down stops occurred in the red zone, forcing field goals.

custom womens vikings jersey or context, the Chiefs held opponents to 260 yards or fewer twice last season, doing so against Oakland on Dec. 8 and Denver on Dec. 25.

The defensive front was particularly effective, with solid performances by defensive tackles Allen Bailey, Rakeem Nunez-Roches and new addition Bennie Logan, who was playing in his first game with Kansas City.

“Bennie Logan played well – I thought the front did well overall,” Reid said. “Bennie just hadn’t played and I was going to get him in there and get him some work. (Bailey) is a force in the run and the pass game and (Nunez-Roches) keeps playing well, which is a plus.”

Logan recorded two tackles in his Chiefs debut, while Nunez-Roches notched a tackle and a passed defensed. Bailey, who injured his shoulder last October and missed the remainder of the season, sacked Bengals quarterback Andy Dalton for a loss of 13 yards in the first quarter.

Reid was also impressed with how the linebackers pe Custom Womens Patriots Jersey rformed throughout the game.

“I thought that the linebackers, both Dee (Ford) and Justin (Houston), were squeezing everything inside and allowing the inside backers to make plays,” Reid said. “I thought they were flying around and did a nice job out there.”

Rookie linebacker Ukeme Eligwe, Kansas City’s fifth-round pick out of Georgia Southern, registered four tackles (1.0 solo), a sack and two tackles-for-loss in the contest.

The secondary was effective as well, yielding just 185 yards through the air while breaking up three passes. Defensive back Eric Murray put an exclamation point on a strong night by picking off Bengals quarterback A.J. McCarron in the third quarter.

Reid mentioned cornerback Phillip Gaines, in particular, as a player he thought made progress on Saturday. Gaines, who dislocated a finger in the preseason opener, recorded four tackles (3.0 solo) in 26 snaps against Cincinnati.

“It was great to get (Phillip) Gaines back in there and get him a lot of playing time,” Reid said. “He got  Custom Womens Eagles Jersey a lot of work in against good players and I think that will just add to his confidence down the road here. He came out feeling pretty good and he kept on battling which was beautiful to watch.”

From the line to the secondary, it was a strong night for the defense as a whole.

custom vikings jersey Kansas City has trotted out one of the best defenses in the league over the past two seasons, allowing the fewest points in the NFL since Week 5 of the 2015 campaign. In that 24-game span, the Chiefs are holding opponents to 16.9 points per game and have allowed 30-plus points just once.

A stout defense generally translates to wins, as the Chiefs are 20-4 in that span, and Saturday’s game was no different.

The Kansas City defense will be back at it on Aug. 25 as the Chiefs travel to Seattle to take on the Seahawks. The game will be nationally televised on CBS.

The Children’s Place Sets Chiefs Charity Game New England Patriots Custom Jersey  Record

The Chiefs and The Children’s Place raised $845,000 through 2017 Chiefs Charity Game

The Kansas City Chiefs opened the preseason with the 33rd annual Charity Game on Friday night and, for the third year in a row, The Children’s Place was the beneficiary.

The Children’s Place aims to meet the developmental and mental health needs of young children that have survived abuse, neglect and other forms of trauma.

“The Chiefs have elevated community awareness of who we are as an agency,” said Ann Thomas, the President and CEO of The Children’s Place. “It’s given us an additional platform to tell our story and to make people aware that we’re serving children in Kansas City right here, under our noses, that are experiencing traumatic events before they’re eight years old.”

The Charity Game has raised more than $12.5 mill unique patriots shirt ion for local initiatives since its inception in 1985 and has see custom womens Steelers jersey n unprecedented success since partnering with The Children’s Place, raising a record number of funds in each of the past two years. The game raised $736,000 in 2015, $740,000 in 2016 and $845,000 this season – a total of over $2.3 million.

“I think it’s exceeded all of our hopes and expectations,” Thomas said. “We were excited in the first year when we hit $730,000, and we knew we had set the bar high for us to continue to break our own record, but that just got people excited. It’s kind of mirrored the competitive spirit you see in sports. This is our opportunity, so we want to make sure we seize the moment.”

It’s been an impressive run for an organization that’s still relatively small in size.

“We have a lot of pride in our success,” Thomas said. “The Chiefs have said, and we know, that they took a bit of a risk on us because we’re a small organization – we have under 50 employees. We’re really proud that our little agency could break all of these records. It also speaks to people believing in our mission and people wanting to see our kids have success in life.”

The event’s success has redefined what The Children’s Place is capable of doing in the Kansas City area.

“We’ve grossed 2.3 million dollars in this process. There are expenses and things that go along with that, but a large portion of that money is for our building,” Thomas said. “We’re looking into what the right thing to do is, and that’s what this money is for us. It’ll allow us to deliver more services and to deliver our services differently. We can’t expand our Custom Womens Cowboys Jerseys  programs the way we want to right now because of our walls, so we’ll get to dream big again.”

The game has more than just a financial impact, too.

“One of the things that we’re seeing is we’re having more and more interest from people wanting to serve on our board,” Thomas said. “Because people are aware of what we do, the philanthropies of individual businesses are starting to reach out and us and ask how they can help. That’s not always monetary – it’s a lot of physical capital, which is what we also need.”

It’s been a successful partnership between the Chiefs and The Chil personalized patriots jersey dren’s Place as the organiz Custom Patriots Jersey ations work together to serve the Kansas City community.

“This platform has really elevated us to a different level which sets us up for a nice trajectory moving forward,” Thomas said. “I like to think that The Children’s Place is here to help kids and elevate them to the next level, and the Chiefs have sort of done that for The Children’s Place.”

Chiefs vs. 49ers: New England Patriots Custom Jersey  10 Observations

Here’s what stood out during the Chiefs’ 27-17 loss to the 49ers Friday night

The Kansas City Chiefs kicked off their 2017 preseason slate Friday night at Arrowhead Stadium against the San Francisco 49ers, falling by a score 27-17.

Here are 10 observations from the game:

1. The first-team offense looked sharp

The Chiefs got the ball to start the game and put together a drive that leaves you feeling good about the first-team offense.

Overall, they went 75 yards on eight plays, converted two third downs and finished off the drive with a 2-yard rushing touchdown from running back Spencer Ware.

It was the only drive of the game for quarterback Alex Smith, who finished 4 of 6 for 48 yards. He also chipped in with a key 10-yard scramble on third-and-7 from midfield.

2. Smith and Tyreek Hill continue what we’ve seen at camp

The Smith-to-Hill connection has been the offensive story at training camp, and it didn’t take long for that connection to be on display Friday night.

On the very first offensive play of the game, Smith went deep down the right sideline to Hill, who hauled it in for a 32-yard gain.

It was Hill’s only reception of the game, but it was a memorable one.

3. Defense stands tall in the red zone

The first-team defense had a couple of nice red-zone stands in the first half of Friday’s game.

Last year, the Chiefs ranked fifth in the NFL by allowing opposing offenses to score touchdowns just 49.1 percent of the time they enter the red zone.

The performance on Friday was indicative of those kinds of performances.

Early in the second quarter, the 49ers had a first-and-goal from the 1-yard line following a Chiefs’ penalty on a made field goal, but the 49ers decided to take the points off the board and accept the penalty and try to get it in from the 1-yard line.

The Chiefs’ defense had other plans.

49ers’ quarterback Matt Barkley’s first-down pass fell incomplete, then the second-down rush attempt resulted in a loss of three yards after a nice tackle in the backfield from cornerback Terrance Mitchell, and the third down pass from Barkley also fell incomplete.

4. Linebacker Derrick Johnson and defensive lineman Allen Bailey return for the defense

Both players were placed on Injured Reserve last season, with Johnson (Achilles) and Bailey (Pectoral) both making their returns to game action Friday night.

Johnson said d unique patriots shirt uring an in-game interview that he feels close to 100 percent, and Bailey had a nice tackle-for-loss on the 49ers second offensive play of the game.

“I saw the formation leaning more to the left,” Bailey explained of the play after the game. “So, I just kind of widened out and prepared for that, and bam.”

“It was really good to get back out there, to get a real game under my belt,” he added. “It’s been about 10 months, but I felt good, shoulder felt good, body felt good.”

5. Chris Conley makes a couple of nice catches, suffers knee contusion

After the game, Chiefs coach Andy Reid shared that there were only two injuries to come from Friday’s game, which were a knee contusion for receiver Chris Conley, and a dislocated finger for cornerback Phillip Gaines.

Conley’s knee contusion came on a fantastic catch he made across the middle for a gain of 17 yards. Conley was able to retain possession of the ball long enough before his elbow and forearm hit the ground. The safety came flying in and hit his knee, but he was able to get off the field under his own power.

Earlier in the game, Conley had a long touchdown that was called back because of offensive pass interference. He finished with two catches for a team-leading 46 yards.

6. New linebacker Kevin Pierre-Louis blocks a punt

Chiefs’ special team’s coach Dave Toub  Custom Womens Cowboys Jerseys had already sung the praises of new linebacker Kevin Pierre-Louis, whom the Chiefs traded for a couple of weeks ago from the Seattle Seahawks in a deal that sent Pro Bowl special teams’ ace D.J. Alexander to the Pacific Northwest.

But after Pierre-Louis blocked a punt midway through the third quarter, Toub may sing a little louder. It was easily the top special teams play of the day.

Rookie running back Kareem Hunt was able to pick up the ball after it was blocked and return it 12 yards to the 49ers’ 8-yard line.

7. Rookie quarterback Patrick Mahomes finds the end zone in his Arrowhead debut

 custom womens Steelers jersey

Just a few plays following the blocked punt, Patrick Mahomes, who on Friday became the first Chiefs’ rookie first-round pick to play quarterback for the Chiefs at Arrowhead Stadium in more than 34 years, found fellow rookie Marcus Kemp in the end zone for a 1-yard touchdown.

On the play, Mahomes scrambled right and threw back across his body up to Kemp in a place that only his receiver could catch it.

As was the case with bot personalized patriots jersey h Alex Smith and Tyler Bray as well, the first pass for Mahomes was a deep one—connecting with Demarcus Robinson on a 41-yard gain, but it was called back due to a penalty.

It was a nice debut for Mahomes, who finished 7 of 9 for 49 yards and a touchdown. His passer rating of 126.4 led all Chiefs’ quarterbacks.

8. Steven Nelson, Marcus Peters have nice pass breakups

While Mitchell had the nice tackle in the red zone, the other two top cornerbacks for the Chiefs who have spent the most time with the first-team defense had some nice plays as well.

Both cornerbacks Steven Nelson and Marcus Peters had nice pass breakups in man coverage.

Again, it was a nice day for the Chiefs’ first-team defense overall.

9. Three Chiefs have sacks Friday night

The Chiefs finished with three sacks on the night.

Outside linebacker Marcus Rush, who was a standout for the 49ers in the preseason last year, finished with three tackles, a sack, and three quarterback hits.

Defensive lineman David King and outside linebacker Earl Okine also chipped in with a couple of flashy sacks.

10. Local product De’Vante Bausby gets the chance to play for his hometown team

Cornerback De’Vante Basuby, who played collegiately at Pittsburg State and locally at Hogan Prep, which sits less than 10 miles from Arrowhead Stadium, was finally able to step out on the field at Arrowhead Stadium in the jersey of the team he grew up rooting for.

Two years ago, Bausby was signed by the Chiefs as an undrafted free agent, but broke his collarbone during offseason workouts and never had the chance to play in the preseason.

Now, after spending time with the Chicago Bears last season, Bausby once again had an opportunity with his childhood team, signing with the Chiefs this offseason.

While he had never played at Arrowhead as a member of the Chiefs, Bausby had played there in college, and had some pretty memorable games.

“I played (at Arrowhead) in college thre Custom Patriots Jersey e times, and got three picks,” Bausby laughed after the game. “I was hoping for a fourth game and a fourth pick, but it was just big for me to come out here and show the coaches that I can do it in front of my home crowd.”

Bausby almost wasn’t given the opportunity to play in this game as he was dealing with an ankle injury suffered in practice last week.

“We have a great training staff,” Bausby explained. “(Head athletic trainer) Rick Burkholder and (assistant trainer) Tiffany Morton worked with me a lot, and they got me right. I was good. I was good out there. A couple plays it was iffy, but for the most part I was good, and mentally, I was in. That was big for me just tuning in, that’s what it all was for me.”

Overall, the opportunity meant something.

“It hasn’t really hit me yet,” Bausby said of the opportunity to play for the Chiefs in a game—even the preseason. “I wish we had got the win, but it hasn’t really hit me. When I sit back and reflect, I’ll probably grasp the whole moment, but right now, it hasn’t really hit me.”

The Chiefs return to practice on the campus of Missouri Western State University Sunday morning at 8:15 a.m. There are only four more chances to catch the Chiefs at camp, and you can find all that info at Chiefs.com/TrainingCamp.

Chief New England Patriots Custom Jersey s Injury Update: DT Chris Jones Returns from PUP List

Jones, Travis Kelce and Bennie Logan all  custom womens Steelers jersey returned to practice on Sunday

There was big news in camp on Sunday as def unique patriots shirt ensive tackle Chris Jones was activated from the PUP (physically unable to preform) list and returned to practice. Jones had arthroscopic knee surgery on July 12.

Tight end Travis Kelce (knee) and defensive tackle Bennie Logan (knee) also returned to practice after missing Friday night’ Custom Womens Cowboys Jerseys s preseason opener against the  Custom Patriots Jersey San Francisco 49ers. Safety Eric Berry (heel) and kicker Cairo Santos (groin), who also missed the game, did not practice on Sunday.

Defensive ba personalized patriots jersey ck Phillip Gaines (dislocated finger) and wide receiver Chris Conley (knee contusion), who both sustained their injuries in the preseason opener, returned to practice.

Conley didn’t show any signs of the injury with an impressive practice, highlighted by a diving catch down the sideline in what was one of the most exciting plays of the day.

Defensive backs Steven Nelson (groin strain) and Terrance Mitchell (hamstring strain) also didn’t practice on Sunday, and rookie defensive back Ashton Lampkin left practice with a knee injury.

Linebackers Tamba Hali (knee) and Dadi Nicolas (knee) and offensive lineman Parker Ehinger (knee) all remain on the PUP list and did not practice.

Patrick Mahomes, Kareem Hunt and Other Rookies  New England Patriots Custom Jersey Impress in Debut

The newest Chiefs were making plays in Friday night’s preseason opener

There were several new faces making plays in Friday night’s preseason opener as the Chiefs rookie class made their presence felt in all three phases in the loss to San Francisco.

Quarterback Patrick Mahomes was particularly impressive in his professional debut, completing seven of nine passes for 49 yards and a touchdown. His 126.4 passer rating led all Chiefs quarterbacks.

“Adrenaline was pumping,” Mahomes said. “You’re living out a dream.  You’re doing something you were imagining in backyards since you were a little kid. I definitely was excited.”

Mahomes entered the game with 6:44 left in the second quarter and didn’t waste any time getting comfortable, completing a 41-yard strike to wide receiver Demarcus Robinson on the first play of his career, but it was called back because of offensive holding.

Still, Mahomes appreciated the chance to show off his arm after quarterbacks Alex Smith and Tyler Bray both started their first drives with deep throws.

“Coach Reid asked me if I liked what I had seen from the other quarterbacks, and they both completed theirs, so I thought it was a good idea,” Mahomes said. “We went out there and completed it, then just tried to build upon that every time.”

Mahomes went on to play through the third quarter, throwing a 1-yard touchdown pass to fellow rookie Marcus Kemp with six minutes left in the third. The catch was Kemp’s first in his professional career.

“(Kemp) was the third read,” Mahomes said. “I rolled out and they had covered up the first two, so I tried to make something happen.  He adjusted really well.  I threw it back to him and he went up and got it.”

Another rookie, running back Kareem Hunt, was largely responsible for setting up Mahomes’ first professional score.

With San Francisco punting from the Kansas City 42-yard line, newly acquired linebacker Kevin Pierre-Louis beat his man off the edge and blocked the punt. Hunt scrambled after the ball and returned it 12 yards to the San Francisco 8-yard line before being tripped up. The play set up Mahomes’ score three plays later.

“Honestly, I was just trying to make a play and get some points on the board,” Hunt said. “I was trying to scoop and score it, but I recovered it and that was the most important thing.”

Hunt’s hustle on special teams didn’t go unnoticed.

“I would have liked to have gotten him going on the offensive side, but he did a nice  Custom Patriots Jersey job there and that’s a plus,” said Chiefs head coach Andy Reid. “You need your backup running backs to be good special teamers. He really did a nice job with it.”

Hunt wasn’t the only rookie to make a play on special teams, as defensive lineman Ricky Ali’ifua blocked a 51-yard field goal attempt in the closing seconds of the first half. Ali’ifua was signed as an undrafted free agent out of Utah State.

Rookie wide receiver Gehrig Dieter, an undrafted free agent out of the University of Alaba custom womens Steelers jersey ma, added a 16-yard catch on what was a largely successful showing for the newest Chiefs.

On the defensive side of the ball, rookie linebacker Ukeme Eligwe tallied five tackles (3 solo), tying for the team lead. Eligwe was the Chiefs fifth round selec Custom Womens Cowboys Jerseys tion in the 2017 Draft out of Georgia Southern.

“(Eligwe) got a lot of snaps,” Reid said. “There’s some good stuff that he can take out of that.”

Reid also mentioned defensive lineman Tanoh Kpassagnon and wide receiver Jehu Chesson as rookies that had productive nights on Friday, even if they didn’t fill up the stat sheet.

Kpassagnon, the Chiefs personalized patriots jersey  second round pick out of Villanova, played 49 snaps on defense, the second-most of any Chiefs defensive player.

“I thought (Kpassagnon) played well, we asked him to play three different positions – he was a rush end, an outside linebacker and then we kicked him  unique patriots shirt inside on a few snaps,” Reid said. “He was all over the place and did a pretty good job.”

Chesson, a fourth round selection out of Michigan, returned three kicks for 78 yards, including a 39-yard return in the second quarter.

Overall, Reid was impressed with how his rookie class handled the moment, but stressed they still have a way to go.

“They have plenty of room to grow,” Reid said. “But they tried their tails off and did some good things.”

Catch the rookies and the rest of the Chiefs on August 19 at 6 p.m. on KCTV5 as Kansas City travels to Cincinnati to take on the Bengals in the second week of preseason action.

Injury Update on Eric Berry, Travis Kelce, and Two New O New England Patriots Custom Jersey nes From Friday

Here’s what you need to know about the Chiefs’ current injury situation

There were ten players scratched from Friday night’s preseason opener for the Kansas City Chiefs because of injuries, including two All-Pros in safety Eric Berry and tight end Travis Kelce.

After the game, Chiefs coach Andy Reid provided an update on a few of those guys, specifically Berry, Kelce, and new defensive lineman Bennie Logan.

“They are close,” Reid noted of those three guys. “(They will) potentially get some work this next week, we’ll just see how it goes. They’ve got a big rehab session (Saturday), so we’ll see.”

All of those guys have pr personalized patriots jersey acticed at camp, but have m Custom Womens Cowboys Jerseys issed time recently with various injuries. The Chiefs go on the road next week to take on the Cincinnati Bengals on Saturday.

Following Friday night’s game against the San Francisco 49ers, which the Chiefs dropped 27-17, Reid had just two new injuries to report.

“[Chris] Conley has a knee contusion, we’ll just see how he does, and [Phillip] Gaines dislocated a finger,” Reid said. “Other than that, everybody made it through fairly healthy.”

Conley’s injury came on a 17-yard reception midway through the first quarter. It was actually a fantastic catch across the middle, but it was the subsequent hit on his knee from the safety af unique patriots shirt ter the catch that sent him end over end.

The 49ers challenged the play as the ball came loose after Conley hit the ground, but the play was confirmed and the result was a nice chunk of yards for the Chiefs’ offense.

A few guys returning from injury made their way back onto the field Friday night as well, including two key members of the Chiefs’ defensive front seven in veteran defensive lineman Allen Bailey and linebacker Derrick Johnson.

Johnson actually finished thi Custom Patriots Jersey rd on the team in snaps played among inside linebackers with 22, trailing only rookie Ukeme Eligwe (41), and the newly-traded-for Kevin Pierre-Louis (23).

“He did get a few reps,” Reid said after the game of Johnson. “He needed them, but he probably got a few more than what I really wanted.”

Bailey finished with 13 snaps, but made one of them count with a huge tackle for loss on the 49ers’ second offensive play of the game.

Johnson and Bailey helped the Chiefs’ defense hold strong twice in red zone situations, including forcing a field goal after being faced with the 49ers having a first-and-goal from the 1-y custom womens Steelers jersey ard line. It was a nice display from a group that’s heard plenty about their 26th-ranked run defense last year.

It’s also important to note that cornerback De’Vante Bausby (ankle) and rookie defensive lineman/outside linebacker Tanoh Kpassagnon (shin splints) played in Friday’s game despite missing Tuesday’s practice with injuries.

The Chiefs return to practice at Missouri Western State University in St. Joseph Sunday morning at 8:15 a.m. They have just four open camp practices left (Sunday – Wednesday).

What We Learned from Su New England Patriots Custom Jersey nday’s Media Availability

Andy Reid, Chris Jones, Rakeem Nunez-Roches and Travis Kelce met with the media on Sunday

Head Coach Andy Reid

Opening Statement: “Made a change at the quarterback position. We are going to give Patrick (Mahomes) a chance to work with the twos like Tyler (Bray) has had here the last couple of weeks. It is not because of Tyler’s performance in the game. I think he actually played very well and Patrick did a nice job too. It gives him an opportunity to step up and work with that second group and see what he can do there. While I am on quarterbacks, Alex (Smith) like I mentioned yesterday, did a nice job. All positive at that position.”

Q: It looked like Bray got som Custom Womens Cowboys Jerseys e work with the first line. Will Patrick also be working with them?

REID: “We have a rotation we do. We are not going to change the rotation up. It will be just the same. Same way, just different guy in a different spot. If he gets in there with the ones, he gets in. If not, he will work with the twos. It will be the same thing we kind of did with Tyler at practice. I  personalized patriots jersey can’t tell you about the game. I don’t know that yet.”

Q: Is this something that Patrick earned or were you going to do this regardless?

REID: “He had to do well so he could get in there and function and be able to go. I would tell you yes, but it is not something that Tyler didn’t do. Tyler is playing well, but Patrick has also done a nice job. In order to step up with that group, he would have had to have done that and progressed.”

Q: Have you done this before at this time of year? Or was this the plan if he showed the right progression?

REID: “Yeah, I have done a million different things. If you are going to try to put it in a box, I am not sure we can do that. It is just what I want to do.”

Q: What have you seen from Travis (Kelce) today after the time he has missed?

REID: “I thought he did a nice job. I saw a couple nice grabs. He was able to step in and move around well. I didn’t see a drop off in what he did. He got quite a few snaps.”

Q: Marcus Kemp was getting a few more reps. What are you seeing from him?

REID: “He has done a nice job. He had the one bad one in the game, but he just has to put the ball in his other hand there. He has earned the right to mix in there. We are trying to mix and match everybody. Try to give everybody a shot. We do it with the offensive line too. That is just how we roll so we can get a good evaluation on people.”

Q: Kareem Hunt was working with the ones. Are you trying to work him in there?

REID: “Again, just mixing everybody in and giving them chances. In his case, to work with the first line. He did not have a ton of opportunities. He probably did more on special teams than he did on offense, but that will come as we go. I wanted to see some things. That last game was a game where you actually have all four quarterbacks playing, so you want to get him a little bit of work right there, condensed work, while you can. Everybody plays in that first game. That is not guaranteed here as we go on.”

Q: You said Patrick has earned his promotion. What specifically are you seeing from him that has led you to this?

REID: “He has worked very hard, but it is being able to get in and function in the huddle while still seeing the defenses and the reads, knowing the calls that he needs to make to get in and out of trouble in both the run and the pass game. That would probably be it.”

Q: In the huddle, does he have time to say the play or is that something he had to conquer completely to get the promotion?

REID: “He does that fairly easy. That is not a tough thing for him to be able to spit it out. We have a few words we have on these routes. He handles that pretty well. We saw that even when we brought him in for the pre-draft test. He was able to handle that pretty well.”

DT Chris Jones

Q: What are the doctors telling you about when you can get back out in game action?

JONES: “Rick (Burkholder) has a plan in place for me, so whatever they have planned for me that’s what I am going to do.”

Q: When do you feel like you are going to play?

JONES: “Honestly, I don’t know. Whatever Rick and them have for me, I am just going to try and do whatever. Those guys have their best intentions. I am just here to work”

Q: How did it feel being back out there?

JONES: “It felt great. It was telling Brett (Veach) it felt so good to be out there with the guys, my brothers. I got tired of sitting in the tent just watching. You know, like a kid at home watching outside and you can’t play with the older kids. So it was good to get back out there.”

Q: How tough is it not to be able to play out  Custom Patriots Jersey there with the guys?

JONES: “It is very tough. I sit in meetings with those guys, I want to interact with them. Those are my brothers. I am with them more than I am with my family. That bond we all have, I like to be out here. Playing football is what I love to do.”

Q: How did you hurt your knee?

JONES: “A freak accident, a freak accident. I guess just running on it.”

Q: Are you trying to build from last year and take it to another level?

JONES: “It is all about progression. I am out here, I am punching in the clock. I am punching in the ticket. I am trying to get better in some area. Even if it is just running, I am trying to get better out here.”

Q: What did you see from the defense on Friday? I saw you were the first one waiting for Allen Bailey after his TFL.

JONES: “Oh, beast! Did you see that? Split the double team, make the TFL. I went up to him and said, ‘Allen Bailey the Hulk is back. The Hulk is back in business, baby.’ And Nacho (Rakeem Nunez-Roches) out there pounding. I mean, it is going to be a lot of excitement, man. I love it. Those guys give me energy. That is the energy you need.”

DT Rakeem Nunez-Roches

Q: How do you feel you did on Friday?

NUNEZ-ROCHES: “I think for a first preseason game it was good. But, there’s a lot of areas I feel like I could improve on. The scoop block, eliminating penalties, I got one on kick return. There was a lot of good things, but I want to improve in other areas.”

Q: How much was improving your run defense a focus in the offseason?

NUNEZ-ROCHES: “The biggest thing was weight. There was a lot of things I could do off the ball being lighter. I was always fast and agile and explosive, but anytime I was hit in my hip, I would go flying. So I was like, ‘If I just add a little more in the lower half, I will be OK.’ Offseason, I emphasized in that area and gained a good amount of weight, 25 pounds. I started to run with it, condition with it, and see how I could move with it and it has worked out pretty good.”

Q: How do you gain 25 pounds of good weight?

NUNEZ-ROCHES: “Well, at first, no cardio, just eating. But not eating bad things. Fish, chicken breast, no red meat, vegetables, things of that nature custom womens Steelers jersey . Then, after you start progressing the weight, then you start doing the cardio.”

Q: What do you weigh?

NUNEZ-ROCHES: “310. What was I last year? 280? I started at 290 something and went to 280. There’s a big difference.”

TE Travis Kelce

Q: How’s the knee feeling?

KELCE: “It feels great. It feels 100%. I got a little bit of that swelling out of there and sure enough I was out here going full speed. We got into a little bit of the blocking stuff, which I was held back from the last time I was out here due to my shoulder. So getting ready for week one.”

Q: Coach mentioned this was something that was flaring up because of a micro fracture a couple of years ago. Is this something you’ve been battling off and on over the years?

KELCE: “Yeah, I was just fortunate that the trainers and the docs gave me the opportunity to get some of my legs back. Right now I feel great. I know I can push through it if I need to, so it’s nothing too big and nothing to be worried about.”

Q: You got to work with [Patrick] Mahomes a little bit today. What were your thoughts about him so far at camp?

KELCE: “We’re throwing a lot at the guy and it’s fun to see him grow. Everyone saw when he got in how ecstatic the fans got when he finally got into the preseason game. It’s just fun to see what the young guy can do and sure enough we’re all growing with him and helping him along with the process. He’s doing just fine and I’m sure he’s going to be just as good as everyone expects him to be.”

Q: How has Alex [Smith] grown from last year to this year?

KELCE: “Alex is on a whole other level on terms of being a leader. Helping guys out and getting them in the right places. Talking with the receivers, the backs and the offensive line just about play specific type stuff and right now we’re just rolling as an offense. It’s a fun thing to have Alex and his confidence and him being just about the oldest guy in the room. But leading us and knowing his veteran presence has got some accountability to it.”

Q: What have you seen from Tyreek Hill in the last few months and how he’s developed his game to be able to do the things he does?

KELCE: “His route running. His route running getting in and out of breaks. How he’s stemming certain defenders so he’s not giving away the route. He’s just growing as a young athlete. He’s a smart kid and he can think faster than anybody on the field just becau unique patriots shirt se of how fast he is. He knows he has to be a step ahead of everyone. It’s fun to see him out there just run around and be an athlete.

Q: Are you the same guy coming in this year that you have been in previous years?

KELCE: “I feel like I need to be a little bit more accountable in terms of the locker room and just being a leader. I know we have a really young team on the offensive side of the ball and we need a lot of leadership to hone in the fun that we have. It’s a little bit more accountability I put on myself to be there for everybody and make sure that everybody’s doing the right things and being professionals.”
